How Can I Decrease My Iat

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just like it reads. I had the truck tuned yesterday and I was talking to the tuner about what he did. He twas telling me that if the trucks sits at idle for a little bit the IAT increase up to 140. Now I do have a K&N intake system, what can I do to help get the IAT down to a lower level. He was telling that when it gets that hot it will adjust the timing 4-6 degrees to compensate for the increased temps. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem on my GTO because the IAT sensor is located in the MAF...which sits right behind the radiator. As soon as it'd get hot, the IATs would shoot up to 140 and stay there.

I got an Omega thermistor, mounted it in the IAT sensor housing for a Camaro, and relocated the thermistor (with a breakout harness) to the end of my cone filder in my Volant. Now, it does still get hot, but not as hot and gets to ambient much faster.
