Hello New, Please Help Me Decide.

Hello everyone, Im new and I am very interested in buying a 2009 pick up truck either GMC or Chevy.

But my main question is what is the difference? I like the 1500 chevy and gmc and dont understand the difference,

Is one higher class? is one higher power? These are things i would like to know before choosing my truck. I plan to do

Cold air, exhaust, headers, highflow cats, etc.

So let me know your opinion and any extra advice i might need to know about the trucks.

My opinion, they're the same truck. Some do say that the GMC has the nicer finish though...but I haven't seen any info that proves this.

Even a GMC salesman told me all the differences are in the badges and trim. GMC has always had a little more caché and Chevy always was a little more "working class" in the ads. JMO though.

So a 1500 chevy and 1500 GMC would have the same engine?

Yes they would. And it is just badges and trim that make the diffence. And welcome to the site

i ve had both chevy and gmc in the last 2 years and see no difference. you see a lot less gmc s though

Basically the GMC and Chevy are the same truck with different grills and looking features. Otherwise, they share the same engines, drive lines, gear ratios. Keep in mind, GM has the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2 gas engines available in the 1500's, so pick accordingly.
