Nitto Tires

Yeah they don't look to bad. A friend of mine is gonna get a set and put them on his 98 Sierra.

Not a bad looking tire at all. Although i think they'd be cooler with tornados on the sidewall.... that way they'd compliment the lightning bolts on the TGs (sorry Matt, had to  )

They look like they'd work good in the mud and most any dirt. Gonna be much noisier than the average A/T though.

Anyone seen the New Nitto Trail Grappler MT, Thinking of getting a set.

I'm looking at getting a set in 35". They have a little more aggressive, yet similar look of the more pricey Toyo MT IMO

they might be as quiet as my bfg km2 tires which is no louder than a a/t tire. they are surprisingly quiet

They look loud to me too, so I looked at Discount Tire to check 'em out. I'm intrigued. The hype agrees with hogue and says they're supposted ot be relatively quiet. Not many sizes available, but they have the characteristics I'm looking for and I wish they had them in my oem size. 3ply sidewalls too. Worth consideration I think.

if they wear as good as my mud grapplers and quiet there going to be a good tire. same price as mud grapplers to but much quieter

35k on my mud grapplers and they will go another 15k easy.

Going by Nitto's own web information, they fall between the Terra and the Mud grapplers on noise level. Just what you'd expect. So far, I haven't seen any surprizingly quiet tires when compared to the aggressiveness of the tread. You seem to get what you'd expect.

I just installed some Toyo OC A/T 285-70/17 tires on my truck yesterday and the noise level seemed to go down from the somewhat worn OEM Goodyear Wanger AT/S tires.

As for BFG KM2 tires being as quiet as A/T tires, that's probably true when the KM2 tires are in good wear conditon and comparing to a relatively noisey A/T. A/Ts are all over the map in terms of noise level. Some A/Ts are so mildly treaded they don't deserve the name. Others are darn near mud tires in terms of tread lug size and voids. We all know that a tire gets noisier as it wears, and worse when it cups. The bigger the voids and lugs of the tread, the more difference a little cupping seems to make in noise level. Noise level is subjectively tolerated, but measureable objectively. Somewhere, I have a db meter.

BTW, Toyo owns Nitto

My Toyo Open Country A/T tires have an almost identical tread as the Nitto TG.

Matt,

How do like the Nitto's? Would you buy them again?

Yes, I would buy them again. This is actually my second set. The first was a set of 33's and I sold those when I bought my 35's. They are basically the same as the Toyo's (same company), but they are way cooler due to the "Hotwheels" lightning bolts on the sidewall...that alone makes them better offroad.

Lighting bolts and flames not only add horsepower and overall speed but make everything cooler
