Anyone Ever Replace Parking Brake Switch?

Has anyone ever had to replace the parking brake switch in the parking brake lever? Mine doesn't work because the when the brake is set, the warning light on the dash doesn't come on and the headlights come on (they should be out when the parking brake is set). I see that the part is about $5, but am wondering how much of a PITA replacing it is.

  I found an odor eliminator spray that neutralizes unwanted smells pretty well. Using it with the car's AC running helps to distribute it evenly around the cabin.
