I need new tires and have heard great things about the Cooper Zeon LTZ tires. I would love to upgrade the looks of my Avalanche and go with 20" rims but I don't have the coinage required. Anyway, I noticed that Cooper now offeres the Zeon's in an LT265/70R17, 10-ply load range E tire. Has anyone put this tire on their truck? Better yet, has anyone found this tire available and know how much it costs? I have looked around and have been unable to find it. How would this size/load range compare to the 20" tires others have purchased and reviewed to date?

They are a nice looking tire if you want the bling bling street poser pickup truck look or a rugged off road look. These Coopers and the Toyo's are sharp looking.

I question whether they will last as long as other AT tires out there???? Anyone run them over 50-60K?

Well, I've got 12000 miles on my set and they still look new... :P

So far I really like them.

i am interested in them as well. i hope that they will expand their size options soon. i have about 7 or 8 months left on the old coop stt's and those things look pretty good.

I do like these. They have a nice aggressive look. They look great on those 20's too

I called Discount Tire and they can order the Zeons in the stock size but they are $210 per tire because of the 10-ply, E load rating. I don't really need (in fact, don't need) an E load rated tire.

Anyone have opinions on what tire to choose in the stock 265/70R17 size? Cooper Discoverer ATR, Nitto Terra Grappler AT, ...

I need a tire with good dry and wet traction. I don't do a whole lot of off-roading and any off-roading that is done is very light (2WD truck). But I do tow my jet skis back and forth to lakes and rivers and am up and down slick boat launches quite often. Would like a tire that looks good, performs well, but is quiet on the road and handles well.

Thanks.

Comsumer reports rated the Pirelli Scorpion ATR highest among all terrain tires. Their testing was all done on pavement and was based mostly on wet and dry handling and braking so it's probably right on for somebody who does mostly highway driving but still wants an AT tire for occaisional light offroad.

We use the Cooper Discoverer ATR on our work trucks and really like them. They are great in the rain, never had a hydroplaning problem with them in the 8 years we've been running them. We've also been getting anywhere from 55000-65000 from each set. They are also great in snow (but not a problem where you live). I think they even have some specials going on right now.
