Engine Motor Mount

I have a 2001 chevy 3500 6.0, and it has a broken engine motor mount. My dealer wants $275.00 to repair it. The motor mount is over $100.00 alone. Is this something that is hard to do? I would like to do it myself if possible. Can anyone help?

Its not hard to do, and an aftermarket mount should be a lot cheaper. Around 30 bucks at http://www.rockauto.com

Basically you support the engine from below with some wood and a floor jack, Dont support it on the oil pan. Find the mount that's broken remove it from the frame and engine, usually 3 bolts on the frame and 5 on the engine and replace it with the new one.

I haven't done one on these trucks, but I have replaced many engine mounts, its usually a 1-1.5 hr job.

Either way...275 isn't a bad price for the dealership to do it.
