i did a little diggin on here found a thread about turnin your highs lows and fogs at the same time, i wanted too have highs and lows like normal, which i have. BUT when i turn the fogs on i can only have all six on at once. i cant have the fogs on with the low beams. when i have just low beams on, i flick the fog switch they all come on. and i cant turn them all off, no runnin lights in the front (the litle small ones i think people refer too them as DRL's). what i did works great its like a friggin ac dc concert when i turn them on but i would like too have it just normal still but have the option too have them ALL on when i want. what i did was connect the diode too the high beam relay pin 85 too the fog light relay pin 85....can somebody please help. i dont know if ive done this right...im a machinist not a wire puller LOL

Sounds like the diode may either be on the wrong relay or facing the wrong way. Can you post a pic of how you ran your diode and the relays you ran from. I did the same mod on my 05. I can provide a little better guideance when I see it. I can tell you that you have to run the diode from pin 85 on all the relays. So to turn your highs on with your fogs you have to run the relay from the lows. The line around the diode should be facing the high beam relay. Then do the same running a diode from the lows to the fog relay, again with the line facing the l;ow beam relay. SO when the power is on the lows the fogs will automatically be on, then when you switch the highs on the fogs will also stay on because the lows are still going to be on with the highs. Hope this helps but if you can post a pic I can make sure all this info is correct.

right on i think i get it, i cant take a pic right now...ill do it in the morning. then maybe youll see what i have done. i havent soldered anything yet. just jammed the wires in LOL...thanks bud

my first thought is that your diode is backwards

2nd thought

are your relays all installed the same way as you removed them?

ie, did you get either the high or the low beam relay in backwards?

when i did mine i noticed that all of my relays were installed backwards and appeared like you could install them the other way around

i dunno if that would affect anything but if you perhaps turned one of them around when you installed it could that cause issue?

Ok I can see that you have the relay in backwards right now. The way you have the relay in is that when you turn the fogs on you are jumping the power from the fog relay to turn the high beams on. The picture above shows you how to keep the lows on with the highs when you turn the high beams on. So you will need one diode run just like the picture and then run a second diode(just like you have now, just turn the diode around). This will make it so that if your lows are on, they are the only ones that are on. If you push the button for the fogs to come on while running the lows only the lows and fows will work. So you will still have control of the fogs off and on funcion only when running the lows. However when you turn the high beams on it will be a different story. When you power the relay for the highs it will send power to the lows and also to the fogs running all six. When all is done it should look like this. Both diodes with the line around the diode facing in the same direction as in th pictures from pin 85 to pin 85 only.

(I stole the pic and just updated it for what you are trying to do.)

Use caution when jamming wires into the fuse/relay block, you do not want to bend any of the pins down in there that why I used fuse taps on mine.

I hope this helps.

You will still be able to use the lows like normal and turn the fogs on when you want, however everytime you turn your high beams on all six will come me on. Unfortunatelly the diode method will not let you use your highs and only highs once you complete this mod.

so the way i have it...the diode is backwards?? it still works tho...i can use hghs and lows like normal but just fog lamps are all six. the picture you show here the diode is in the opposite way as me. anyways il listen too ya, looks like youve done this a few times. ill take ur advice thanks bud.

you are correct your current setup does work. however every time you turn your fog lights on it will turn your high beams on. as you are taking the power to the fogs and sending it to the highs. you will still run highs and lows like normal. with the setup I described you will be able to use your lows like normal and turn your fogs only on with low beams. however as soon as you turn your highs on it will keep you lows on too and turn your fogs on too running all 6 lights . your high beams will not be able to operate as only the high beam
