what are the advantages of upgrading your sound system?  what upgrades will make the most difference in sound quality and stereo output?  also, what brands have the best quality and value?

head unit, amps, speakers. best sound quality will come from the expensive names. Eclipse, Nakamichi, PPI, CDT, Crystal, some of the top end of Phoenix Gold is ok. but the rest of their stuff i dont like much.

 

if you want it to sound good you have to have clean signal going to an amp or the amp will just make the distorted signal stronger and push that to the speakers and they will sound crappy till they blow up.

 

quality and valve becomes more of a harder thing to get. but i'd say stuff from DEI is always a good bet, some of the higher up pioneer, kenwood, etc will work too. just read the specs. if a deck has like 1v pre-amps. its not worth it.
