I am hearing a noise that is about the same as brake rivots digging into the rotor, took front wheels off and it's coming from where the CV axle (left front) enters the housing. Only 32,000 miles on this and warranty is done. I was wondering if this is something I could do myself or time for dealer? I am good with a wrench.

You should have no problem doing it.

That sounds to me like you need a hub.
