07 Nbs Hvac Upgrade (is This Possible)

Hey guys, I am a newbie here and have been devouring the endless information on the site for the last couple of days. I just stumbled across the DIC upgrade topic and was wondering if a plug and play upgrade to the digital hvac control was possible on my 07 NBS. Right now I just have the standard HVAC control.

 

I had the dash apart to add an after-market Nav-DVD player and noticed a plug connected to a blank located below the hvac controls. This area is now a pocket but I assume there is something upgraded that goes there.
