That's why I use Shell Rotella (per Comp) for at least the break in period on my flat tappets and Use Comp's products exclusively. Of all the cam companies out there there are only 2 or 3 companies making the cam blankes. I believe Comp actually makes their own as well as lifters.

 

That is also part of the reason my Chevelles BBC has a solid roller. :thumbs:

When I researched buying a new cam for my Burb I found out about ZDDP and the lack of it in modern oils.So I went to the local NAPA store and asked them.Luckily there was a guy who knew about it.I bought a pint of the additive(forget the brand)and poured it into the engine.I left it in for only the first 30 min. break-in procedure

(per the NAPA guy).After 500 miles I changed the oil,after another 2,000 miles I changed it again then every 3-4,000 miles after that.I've driven the Burb 15,000 miles since the cam change and all is good :eek:
