2004 Canyon Won't Start

I have a 2004 GMC Canyon, it has recently developed a random intermittent no start issue. It will crank and crank but will not fire up. If I leave it sit for 5 to 10 min and try again it starts up fine. I have tried a new fuel filter and a new fuel filler cap. there apears to be no loose wires. I feel it is probably a fuel problem but don't have any idea what. It cranks fine and runs great when it is running and this is a random issue. Not a consistant thing.
