Plastic Rough Country

I ordered the Rough country leveling kit and its plastic or polymer. Anyone put one of these in? Im alittle concerened about the durability of it.

Polymers are extremely resilient and, depending on the composition, can actually have higher compression strength than aluminum (which everyone seems to want). You also don't have to worry about dissimilar metal mating surfaces which could lead to major issues down the road, especially with these parts being exposed to a wide range of contaminants from the road (dirt, salt, grease, etc).

 

IMO, don't worry that it's "plastic".... it's probably better for the long term.

....that was what i was thinking but just wanted someone to say the same thing, its going on tomorrow, I have been busy loading containers for Afghanistan and havnt had the time to put it on since wednesday but its going on tomorrow....pics to follow!

Wow that looks like a nice kit. Easy to install and cheap. After I see how your install went I will probably order one of these for my truck.

I have the same kit, its been on my truck for 5 months and no problems. Its a lot easy to install then the other RC kit that uses 3 spacers.

I noticed the RC seems to be only in 2inch lift now. Is that the one I want to level my truck? I thought I read where you guys were recommending a 1.5in but I can't seem to find a RC in a 1.5in offering.

The RC kit used to have 3 aluminum spacers. You could only use the thickest spacer and one of the smaller ones to achieve 1.5" of lift, but they no longer offer this kit. There are ones that are nearly identical on eBay that still allow you to do this.

I have this kit on my truck and have no complaints. Alot of people recommend ony getting a 1.5" level but I found more people saying as long as you don't go more than 2-2.5".

INSTALLED!!! GOT 2 INCHES AT THE FENDER. Its dirty but you can see what the results were. The first one is a before from last week.

Would you mind snapping a shot from the front... im curious what the Control arms, tie rod and CV angles are like.

There is a good before and after. Its 3/8 of and inch higher in the rear.
