Pictures Of Your 07+ Nbs With Bull Bar Or Grill Guard

Anything that bolts on at the bottom of the front bumper or frame, whether it be Westin, Ranch hand, or another brand of ebay or whatever, is going to TRASH your frontend in a solid collision with any substantial animal or object. The grill guard might be OK if it is built really heavy, but your frontend will be wrecked. There is just too much leverage applied to the guard for the mounts to handle. I don't care if the mounts are 1/2" steel plate. The guard will be pushed back onto your frontend and smash your bumper, grille, headlights, hood, and possibly fenders. When I hit a deer with mine it also bent the bottom bar and wrecked my AC condenser and radiator core support.

If you want ANY protection you will have to go with a plate bumper from Iron Bull or Ranch Hand or another quality brand. They are HEAVY (200-300 LBS). That's why they work. I have heard that they also can cause frame damage in a collision due to the fact that there is no give in the bumper. Something has got to give in ANY collision and I would rather it be my bumper/grille/hood than the frame. No more grille guards for me.

Here's a Ranch Hand I picked off at a moving sale for $50. It was in pretty bad shape, but I sanded it down and hit it with a coat of primer and 4 coats of black gloss enamel spray paint. Had to buy new mounting brackets from Ranch Hand factory store for $40. You might be able to see in the 5th pic that the passenger side is closer to the headlight than the driver side. I fixed it the other day by attaching my tow rope to it and a tree and giving it a little tug in reverse. Looks even now, but haven't taken pics.
