2010 Gmc Sierra All Terrain

So I stopped at my dealer earlier today to take a look at a couple features on the 2010 trucks that I'm considering adding to my '08, and I made an interesting discovery while I was there. Out in front they had parked a new 2010 4WD Sierra SLE with the All Terrain package. The badges, grille, etc. were all the same as mine, but one major difference caught my attention. It appears as though GM has modified the design of the 18" wheels slightly for the new trucks, I'm guessing probably due to a change in supplier but who knows.

I snapped a quick pic with my phone and thought I would share it with y'all. Original style wheels from '08-09 for reference:

Not sure what to think about these; I honestly think the originals look better (these new ones look a bit cheesy to me), but that's just my opinion. :D

New ones will be easier to clean...........

Not by that much. It takes maybe 2 extra seconds to wipe inside the small windows on the spokes.

Oh, and one other thing I noticed... they've changed the color of the FlexFuel badge on the tailgate from yellow to green. Didn't look to see if the fuel filler cap was also changed though.

AAAAAND I just found out why the change in design:

"(RZF) 18" x 8" (45.7 cm x 20.3 cm) chrome-cladded aluminum wheels" -- according to the order guide, they're no longer a "real" polished (chromed aluminum, actually) wheel -- they're just the cheap plastic-glued-to-aluminum construction that the rest of the wheels have become. :D

Also they have put some limits on what colors can order the A/T package now "(41U) Onyx Black, (50U) Summit White, (58U) Carbon Black Metallic, (GGW) Storm Gray Metallic or (GGZ) Pure Silver Metallic"

Oh well... I'm just glad I got the better looking real deal on my truck, and that it's in a more interesting color! This does kind of de-value the A/T package though for newer trucks.

That is the reason why I said no to the GMC. I didnt like the new style chrome clad wheels.

SSOO disappointed by the new rims!!

Called GM yesterday to ask what my build status was and I was told it was "built but still at the factory". Ordered the 2010 SLE 4x4 All-Terrain. One of the main things i liked about it was the rims and add to the fact that they are now the "cheap glued on chrome". Dealer showed me pics of the 2009 when I ordered.

Oh well, gonan have to take a look when it arrives and make a decision. Maybe I can find some 09 rims somewhere.
