which one do you like better? or good and bad point of both.

I am looking to buy a 99 or 00 ck1500 or ck2500 ex-cab 4x4 shortbed with an auto.

Or mayby a crewcab shortbed 4x4 with auto. I do not know when they came out the the cd1500 in a this model? I really would like to have a cd 1500 or cd2500 4x4 in the true 4 door pickup.

Can you tell me when they came out the the quad cab silveraudo? what year they made the 1500 4 door?

what year they started putting the vents in the consol for the back seat? My 1995 gmc 1500 did not have them.

Is their a year that was better than another or worse?

thanks again. new to chevy and gmc

That is true but I thought he was talking crew cab, sorry. I had a senior moment. Lost my ability to read. :D

Reading his post it does seem like he was referring to the "crew cab" model and not the extended cab w/ 4 doors. My 02 has the a/c vent in the console blowing to the rear but I have no clue what year it came out. BTW, what's a cd1500?

A C designation is a 2wd, a K is a 4wd. I'm not sure they even use those designations once you cross over into the 800 series though.

I've got a 02 GMC 1500HD with a crew cab, full size bed and rear vents.

That HD, the crew cab plane ole 1500 with the short bed wasn't made till 2004. (I'm still hoping it wasn't 2003, I havn't looked it up yet)

5.3 over the 5.7 the 5.7 has nice low end torque but hell do you want the hot newer motor or the old crotchety motor?
