Ride And Performance Of 275-285 Size Tires

I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 4x4 with all-terrain package that currently has 265/70/18s on it. I'm considering jumping to 275s or 285s for my next tires. Two questions: Will these fit without any modifications? Will I sacrifice any ride quality with the bigger tires? My truck rides sweet as is, and I don't want to lose that, but the bigger tires look great on the trucks I've seen on here. I'll be looking at AT tires. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

tread pattern and tire build will affect the ride just as much as that little change in height/width will.

To retain as much of the ride comfort as possible, go with a mild AT tire and one that comes in a P load range like the OEM tires. I believe that the Toyo ATs come in the size you want and a P rating... that would be a good option for what you've described that you're looking for.
