Just Fyi - Evap Solenoid Location & Replacement

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra Z71 4-door and the only code I was getting was P0449 (solenoid circuit malfunction) - The location of the solenoid was in front of gas tank, drivers side, next to frame rail (can't miss it). I bought the replacement solenoid at Chevrolet Dealer in Orange Tx. for about $32. At Autozone I bought 2ft of 5/8" heater hose and a pack of 4 hose clamps for about $10 (only needed about 1ft of hose and 2 of the clamps). So for around $40 bucks and less than 20 minutes actual repair time problem was solved. I was a little curious so I opened the solenoid filter (not the vapor box) and tapped the solenoid on my work bench and the darn thing was full of dirt/sand. I'm not sure if this info is helpfull to anyone, but just thought i'd throw it out there since most of the info I used to fix my EVAP issues I found on this site.

Thanks guys

Can someone tell me where to find the evap solenoid on a 2006 Yukon Denali XL? I've looked around some, but have no lift so it's difficult.

[b-Gun, From what I know, that is one of the two reasons that part goes bad....#1. clogged with sand or dirt, and #2 shorted out from gasoline reaching it.....taking it apart, cleaning it out, and reinstalling has worked for some....Others have the gas short problem, which is unfixable.]
