Hi all. I just purchased a 09 Silverado Crew. Is there any way to use the factory xm antenna with a aftermarket receiver? And can you get the dic and install it yourself? Parts and part numbers would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance. By the way, looks like a nice forum you guys have here.

As far as I have heard, you can install the DIC yourself. It's one of the first mod's most people do. ;)

Ok, scratch the 19159438 I found the link for that one and it will work. Still curious about the other two though, if anyone has any insight. And if anyone knows part number for the dual climate control. I have the standard three big knobs. Dont know if you can even change it out.

there is a cable a guy makes on xmfan.com to use the stock antenna on the roof to a portable xm/sirrus unit. let me know if you find out if you can swap the heater controls for the digital ones as I have the knobs also.

I'm pretty sure you can't just swap out the HVAC controls, there are a lot of extra items that would have to be found and installed, reprogramming, etc.

You can def install the DIC yourself as I found some info on another forum and many of them said they did it in just a few minutes time. http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10218 I think you can order it from gm parts for around 75 dollars and 8 dollars shipping from what I saw.

yes it is. my 07 reg. cab short bed had it and it is helpful. i like to keep the instant mpg up there to try and remind myself to stay off of the gas at least a little bit.
