85 Blazer

My buddy just picked up a 85 blazer the other day and we got to wondering why the rear wheels seem to track about 1.5" narrower than the front wheels. Anyone know why they do this? Thanks

You know, I remember reading about that somewhere, but I don't exactly remember the reason for it. I wanna say it was so the rear tires were finding fresh ground for traction purposes off-road, but that sounds lame. Maybe somebody else knows for sure.

ok well i have a 87 k5 blazer they did narrow the rear tires for traction. realy no changing it unless u wann swap axles
