Pcm Failure '09 Silverado

What might be the cause of a PCM failure on '09 Silverado just passed 10K miles?

Was driving with no issues for about 45 minutes then the dash lit up like a christmas tree. Oil Light, Engine Light, DIC w/ "Service traction control", "Engine power reduced", "Service stability track", "Oil pressure low stop engine", and all the un-mutable beeping that goes along with all that.

Will swapping the PCM solve the problem or is something causing the PCM to fail?

Sometimes it just happens...faulty PCM...could be the board...or the CPU or any other part.

Ever had a home computer that went out after a couple months? Sometimes Shit happens. If it happens again...than there's something else wrong.

Dealer #1 swapped PCM and road tested not once but twice after having the vehicle for a week. 24 hours after getting the vehicle back, FAIL. Hello Onstar, Hello Roadside, Hello GM dealer #2.

Really? I could be wrong, but I thought that they get a few chances to fix before calling it a lemon and getting "bought out"?

now you call the regoinal service manager and get it fixed or get bought out

Too bad you don't have the serial number from the original PCM so you could verify that they actually did replace it. I wouldn't put it past some dealers, especially ones that are hurting and want the money but not do the work.

no.they still have to fix it ,just get the regional guy involved so he's in the loop,

"days in service"is very important in the buy out process and lemon law crap

call GM customer assistance and explain what issue you are having. they will give you a claim # and they will explain what will happen next..when you call, have your Vin # any work orders from the dealer handy. and above all else, :dunno: BE NICE TO THEM OVER THE PHONE :) they are there to help you out and not take a bunch of BS.. i have use this 2x on issues and had good results.

Anyone make any sense of these codes? What could be causing them?

Current error codes:

C0242, C0561, P0106, P0107, P0521, P0641, P0335, P0522, P0532, P0341. Oh my!

Most of them are MAP and Oil pressure sending unit related...P0641 has to do with your 5V reference signal, the C0242 one is the PCM saying that the TCS isnt working and C0561 is System Disabled Information Stored.

Looks like the P0641 might be contributing to all the other codes. The PCM uses the signal to know what 5 volts is and will allow it to react to all other inputs correctly. I would expect that there is a short somewhere in that circuit.

How do I contact my Chevrolet regional service manager? The current thought is the PCM was not bad (like the other dealer diagnosed) it's a sensor causing all the problems, is that even possible? A certain sensor fails and it makes the vehicle give 10+ error codes and kills the vehicle dead?
