Should I be buying lug centric or hub centric wheels for my GMT900?

Thats a good question. I am sure there are many on here who can answer that. I have a set of both so i too am curious.

Hubcentric, or you will always hear a rattle.

Hubcentric- the wheel rests on the hub.

Lug centric-the wheel rests on the lugs.

I had a set of lugcentric 22s on my 03 that I sold, but they came with rings that made the wheel fit snug on the hubs. Had no issues with them at all. GMT900 is the newest body style out now right? I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the new GMs are hubcentric too.

Just remember that if you decide to go with lugcentric wheels that you get the correct lug nuts.

My GMT900 stock rims are hub centric but the after market 18" MB Motoring rims i bought for my summer use are lug centric...I like the idea of hub centric myself.

I had no vibration at all with my lugcentric wheels, but the hub rings came with them. I would imagine it could be a pain in the you know what to find the correct hub rings if they didn't come with the wheels.

Why create another possible issue, You should be buying hub centric rims

Lug can work in a pinch...but if you have vibrating issues at all, you got know one to blame but your self

I'm having a hard time trying to find wheels that have a hub centric option. I guess in order to bring costs down, wheel manufacturers have decided to make their wheels with large hub bores so that hub rings can be used to match the same wheel to a variety of applications. I see a lot of members here with XD Spy or Monsters or Moto Metal wheels and finding them as hub centric is impossible. All of these guys must be using spacers... Becoming frustrated...

Just call the manufacturer of what ever wheels you want and ask them if they come with the correct hub rings (if they are lug centric). You will be fine as long as you have the hub rings.

When I was looking up wheels, i found that 4wheelparts.com actually have their wheel selection (not all of them, but a good number of them) listed with info. Of the info given, many will state whether or not they are lug centric. I would go to 4wheelparts' website just to scope out the most wheels at one time and find hubcentric ones, then shop for the best price.

I know that pro comp makes hub centric wheels, and that mickey thompson, and dick cepek wheels offer wheels with hub centric rings for our trucks.

So my wheels arrived yesterday.. picture below:

Unfortunately the company forget to put the hub rings in the shipment. I called them and they said they will get them sent out but the rings may not arrive before the weekend. This saturday I am going to be driving ~2 hours away and installing the body lift. So my question is, should I put the body lift on and put the old wheels back on and look like a 'tard if the rings don't make it in time or go ahead and put the wheels on being careful with the lug tightening procedure in hopes they are "centric" enough to avoid vibrations? Either way I will install the rings once they arrive, but am concerned that if I do have a vibration that I will mess something up on the 2 hour drive home. Thoughts?
