Adding Aux/mp3 Plug To 05 Radio

On my O5 chevy radio, it has cd/aux option and I know that the aux was for cassette. My truck doesn't have the cassette option, however. My question is, is there a way to wire in a 1/8" input plug for a mp3 player into these factory radios and use the aux option to select it?

... an even simpler approach is to buy a FM transmitter/adapter for a few bucks$$$... there are different styles and they are all really cheap (mine was less than $10)

.. the style I have inserts into the cigarette lighter (for the little power it needs) and then there is a wire with an 1/8 inch stereo plug to insert into the headphone/earpiece jack on my mp3 player

.. it then transmits the signal to the radio on some FM frequency (you can select from 3 or 4 different ones)

.. mine even has another USB jack that will allow you to charge your mp3 player the same as plugging it to a USB computer port. (although my mp3 player will not charge and play at the same time ... either one of the other)

+1 They make a gm version it should just be plug and play.

Very easy to install. Just have to run power to it and plug the harness into the back of the factory radio. It comes with a cord for an iPod, but you can also use A/V cables to hook up any mp3 player. Most people mount theirs somewhere, but I just put mine in behind the factory radio and everything fit perfectly.
