Ok have a problem with my 04 gmc it has climate control and blower motor is not working. Oh high motor goes off and on other than that nothing. I believe its the resistor but cant seem to find one. mine only has 3 wires going into it went to 3 parts stores and dealer they show one with 6 or 8 wires and looks complete different. Mine has two metal fins on the inside and the others have several resistor and a green wrap. Im pretty sure its the resistor not the motor. Anyone know how to test and where I can get the right one. Thanks

It wouldn't be uncommon for the new one to look different than the old one, my new one was encased in a ceramic coating. It looked totally different than the OEM (even though the new one was ACDelco OEM). However, it seems as though the new one is starting to crap out again (it's been in there a little more than one year).

I had similar issue with both my 2002 Envoy and my 2000 Silverado. I found the resistor to be the problem in both cases. The part numbers were different but I found both of them at my local NAPA store. The Silverado resistor was a stock item and the GMC Envoy resistor had to be ordered from their warehouse. Both fit perfectly and the number of wires matched the OEM module. I'm not sure how to test, but it seems your on the right track.
