Whining Thru The Speakers:(

Recommended Posts

Ok i have a Kenwood Touch Screen Navigation H/U in my truck and an adapter for the Bose that the truck is equiped with. I'm getting a whining thru the back speakers(front not so much) and it's noticeable until the radio is turned way up. It increase and decreases with engine speed. Any tricks to fix this? I was thinking of taking the ground on the harness and grounding it to the truck better instead of directly into the adapter.~Cole~

This is almost always related to a bad ground connection. Check all of your grounds. Make sure you strip paint to expose bare metal if you ground to the body.

sounds like a ground loop problem. It may need to be grounded better with a heavier gauge. Also if you have and RCA cables in the truck you may be getting noise through those. You can pick up a couple of ground loop isolators that plug right into your rca's and it completely gets rid of the noise.

i was thinking of just taking the ground from the radio and grounding it to the truck directly and then also from the adapter to the chassis

i had the same problem with my ipod adapter. i ended up taking the ground to a bolt holding the console down; problem solved.
