Just thinking with what my next truck(new GMT 900) will be in year or so. Currently have a loaded extended cab SB which I do like, but doesn't fit in the garage. I found I don't like using the rear doors (also have to slam to close)and don't have rear passengers hardly ever. I think the next truck will be a reg cab SB as it would fit in my garage and would be a little easier to park, manoever. Also, it knocks about 3k off the MSRP vs. EC. One downside might be harsher ride. Of course I will find out on test drive. Anyone regret making the switch to reg. cab or is it all good? Also is the 4.8 adequate? I don't want AFM.

My opinion is DONT DO IT, I bought a regular cab long bed in 07 coming from a extra cab long bed 04 and it was the biggest mistake I made, I dont carry people in the back that often but when I need to put something in the back and not in the bed the extra cab is nice thats why I got rid of the 07 and went back to a extra cab long bed.

Bigger garage time!!!!!

But really it depends on your situation. I'm a single guy and have a 4 door sedan as my daily driver. If it wasnt for have a car I dont think a RCSB is all that practical.....Its like having a 2 door sports car. You use it only when you NEED a truck and it keeps the miles off it. Plus RCSBs are the best looking! My dad has had a crew and an extended cab....he claims he wants a reg cab again to keep from putting $hit in the back seat. I like extended cabs cause I can lean the seat back, but the tough to beat a reg cab shorty chevy! I figure if I go on trips its still cheaper to take my car and truck....then I can haul 6-8 people. For the MAYBE 6 trips a year I might go wheeling or camping and a load of people are coming they can follow me. Good thing about a two car caravan on a trip is if one get a flat the other can get help, or not everyone is reliant on one vehicle to get around which can be a pain. My 20 cents! lol

The RCSB model is the most sporty looking IMO. One thing to consider (if this is important to you) is that the RC only comes with the LT/SLE style dash (no LTZ/SLT from what I understand).

Funny how the RCSB was the 'normal' truck for almost forever and now you don't really see that style much anymore...

I have a 2001 ecsb,, and my next truck will be a rcsb.. That truck was the trip truck, then I bought a tahoe.. the rcsb has a higher tow rating, and they are a hellava lot easier to turn around in the woods, and easier to park.. sometimes my truck feels like an aircraft carrier

i went from a 07 nbs crew to a 08 rcsb and i loved it....sporty, and i never had to use it as my primary vehicle because the lack of seats

if i didnt have a little one, i would still have it

That being said...I'm actually still looking for a nice,clean '96-'98 RCSB 4x4,You can't beat the way a regular-cab short-bed looks.

And I love the looks/style of the GMT400 trucks (I had 3 of them)

He!!s Be!!s is all I gotta say about that! lol Love the GMT400....frustrating thing is finding one that's in good shape still. My buddies dad worked in the Fort Wayne plant and said the 400s are built better than any of the new ones.

I've had CrewCabs and ExCabs and I like my RCSB trucks better than any of the others. Crew and Excab trucks are like driving a big slow bus compared to a RCSB! I can understand if you NEED the room... but our kids are grown and the RC suits us very well!

I had an ECSB '02 and went to the RCSB '01...Haven't looked back. Love the regular cab!

I'm going to hate it when I have to buy another long-assed truck when I become a breeder. Don't get me wrong, I love having all the space and they look great, but the looks and maneuverability of the regular cab are the cat's ass.

yea ive had 2 ext cabs too and they are only good for extra cabin storage

if you are not going with a crew, then go regular cab

I came from a RCSB into my CCSB.

With a Tonneau cover you can put a lot of crap in the box. :wtf: But there are lots of times I like having the ability to haul 6 people and stuff. Though, it was nice in college, that my RCSB was never the vehicle we'd have to take places, because it held 3 people. More if necessary, depending how good looking the gals were . . .

Though, I'd consider another RCSB, if our other vehicle was a Tahoe or something.

the RCSB that we have is great, the only gripe we have is that the Middle seat is Hard as a Rock on Long Trips! (probably because we have the Underseat Storage!)

Buying a new truck within the next two model years may be the only way to get a regular (2-dr) cab with any frills. As reported in many mags, and internally by GM, the 2-dr pick-up is destined to become a "work truck" only model. Current sales of non-work truck 2-dr's are very low. Look at GM's logic: sell 2-dr pick-up's as "work trucks" with a basic WT package, and in maybe two or three colors. Other colors available on large fleet sales. That's one plant running full time (two 10hr. shifts/five days), hardly any assembly line changeovers. The same dull, White, Blue, Red, trucks, and then 5000 Yellow ones. I'm betting that within the next three model years the X-cabs will be gone--period. Face it: Across the brand names, people love the CC trucks even with shorter beds. You can have either the full cab with luxuries and a pick-up bed, or a full cab with luxuries with a fully enclosed rear body--Suburban/Yukon XL. GMC recently made an offer to "Motors Liquidation Company", the new name for GM after bankruptcy, to purchase the Moraine , OH assembly plant. GMC div. wants to build their GMT-900's on their own assembly line so they can control and improve their products options and quality. The deal's not looking too good right now. GM's really ticking me off lately with their talk of combining Chevy and GMC under one badge--again. No-you don't remember GMT's. General Motors Truck div. of GM. That was after they bought GMC (Grimaldi Motor Company). the Grimaldi Bros.

made only "carry-all's", or trucks. I do prefer my Jimmy over the Cheby. David
