Hppy 100th Birthday Boy Scouts!

The Boy Scouts were started on this day, February 8, in 1910.

 

Since then, just over 2 million boys have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

... in Canada, we were called a Queen's Scout (received mine in 1967) ... roughly equivalent to the achievement status of an Eagle Scout in the USA

Not an Eagle Scout, as I chose to go into a Law Enforcement Explorer program (Related to Boy Scouts) wish I would have gotten my Eagle. Scouting is a tested and true program worthy of support, and best of all, they don't give into demands by society and stick to their founding principles and guidelines instead. Wish we had a government like that.

 

Scouting helps teach boys to become MEN.

It kind of sucks that I got my Eagle while Obama is in office. He refuses to send letters of congratulations to Eagle Scouts because BSA is so strict about not allowing openly gay people into the program. This is the same reason why he cut almost all of the government money that was going into the program.

Not an Eagle myself, but oldest son is, and youngest son is working on his Eagle project as I am typing this.

Tell him I say good luck and congrats on making it this far. My project got canceled the day before it was supposed to happen...twice. I have never had a more stressful period of time in my life. I got the project done 4 days before my birthday in December when it was 8 degrees outside
