So, Did I Get A Good Deal?

so, browsing craigtslist for a few weeks, trying to score some used tires in good condition for the truck. I wasnt able to find any decent ones for weeks in a 16 inch tire.

so, i kept seeing 17 inch tires for sale, and ever now and then some wheels. they were good prices, (for the tires) 100 for all 4, and 200 for nearly new, etc. so i came across some 17 steeelies off the newer chevys. scored them for 80 bucks for the set. (bare, no tires)

so now i needed tires. 2 days later, picked up the tires i have mounted on there now 50 bucks for the set, 9/32 of tread on all of them. 50 bucks later at wallymart for a mount, and lifetime balance/rotate my total investment 180 bucks. cant beat that.

looking forward to putting them on tomorrow.

selling the old rims, if anyone wants them. [8D]

no one has any feedback?

i got more responses posting this on my pontiac forum, lol.

I don't think anyone wants to be first to say anything negative about them so allow me.. lol.

Nah I don't want to hate on them but IMHO, what you have there for replacements would probably look way better on a Truck. The steelies with the white raised letters and the all-terrain tread might look out of place on an SUV that typically is suited better with street tires w/black walls.

Mount em up though and lets see how it looks. It might turn out better than anyone imagines.

and ultimately it's all about what you like.

i kept the white out, being its on a white truck. then in my mind id paint them to look like the soft 8's steelies. (cragar or pacer makes them IIRC)

thought it would make them pop. and i treat my yukon like a truck, lol, its all muddy right now. :D

You kinda confused everyone with your posting, I at first thought the top pics were pics of your suv with the new rims/tires; but then I reread your post. The way you listed your pics kinda was confusing, so if you are going to show before pictures, we need after pictures right after; because we can't make a comment of how the look on the truck with no pictures of them on the suv...

ahh, sorry, i guess it made sense in my head.

i dont have them mounted yet, it was more to show what the truck looks like now, and then show the new rims, so i could see if you guys thingk they will look good, and if i got a deal overall. the way i see it, i bought rims and tires, and spent less than what 4 used tires were going to cost me.

ill have em bolted up soon, im debating on painting them now, before i bolt them up. or just doing it later, and taking them back off.

Personally, I like the factory wheels on the Tahoe/Yukon as it sits. Maybe it's because I owned one exactly like yours. Let's see how it looks after you mount 'em up, who knows, maybe it'll look awesome.

What do the centercaps look like on the new wheels? If they're the chrome ones with the log nut covers I'd paint them steel wheels gloss white to match the truck or better yet get them powder coated white. I think that wwould look sweet!
