Pro Comp Vs. Bds

I have decided I want to get a 6" lift, and keep trolling the usual places and asking all kinds of q's here on the forum (as some of you may have noticed). I have an option of either BDS 6.5" installed for $2200, or purchasing a full 6" pro comp lift from craigslist ad for $1000 dollars and then pay $700 install totaling $1700. So, if you were in this situation, which would you do? $500 bucks is a big difference, and that money can go toward the 35" tires I want to get!

 

What is your thoughts?

Bds is fair superior than the junkie pro comp. JMO

I bought a used 6" Fabtech for $450 and used Pro Comp Xterrains 35''x13.5''x20'' for $700 off Craigslist about a week ago. Ordered new Zone shocks from their www and new 20'' wheels off Ebay for $900 which brought me out to $100 more if I bought a brand new 3" BL, 2" leveling kit, new tires and rims...Oh yeah, including the install Just my two cents though...Good luck and don't wait to long or else someone is going to swoop in there and get it!

Unless the kit is brand new in a sealed box, I'd be extremely careful about buying a lift from someone. Who knows what happened to that lift during install/take off.

Yeah, the BL and torsion crank is a giant FAIL for my truck, just the t-bar crank alone caused problems.

 

And, the pro comp lift is brand new in box, that is why it is hard for me to decide. I really want the bds lift from the info I have gathered, but I also have not heard much bad news about the pro comp lifts.

DONT BUY A USED LIFT KIT as Jake said, the kit could have been modded, cut to remove and missing parts.

Go with the BDS kit. It is a great kit and has a no questions asked warrenty. I am not a big fan of the pro comp lifts at all. Plus if you bought the procomp lift you will not have a warrenty for it and if something happens to any of the parts you are screwed. I think the extra $500 is well worth it IMO. You get a better lift kit and a warrenty since you are buying it new from a dealer. I think you will happy in the long run if you went with the bds kit.

I think I have made up my mind. I am gonna go with the BDS lift. now, I have to figure out if I get the block and add-a-leaf or get the one with springs. I started a new topic on the question!
