How Can Gmc Or Any Gm Product Be In Trouble?

Does anyone else feel as passionate as I do? My god! My 08 Sierra is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much a better truck than my 01 Dodge Ram 360! There are a few small things that I feel could be better (ie that darn windshield washer deal) But my All Terrain is by FAR the best vehicle I have EVER owned. Additionally, I feel that this forum (despite a couple of douches) is the BEST tool, and best group of peeps I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! The 4wd ability, the forum, and the dealership has definitely made me a GM Truck man 4-eva!

I am more than pleased with my '06. As for this forum, it is a godsend when it comes to knowledge about our trucks and ways to better them. The dealership I wouldn't know about, the last time I took a vehicle to one it was me pulling my '92 Cougar into my Cadillac service bay so I could replace my own wheel bearing. :D

I can tell you this much. This is the longest that I've owned a vehicle. I love my truck and it has never let me down. I drove over 5500 miles last summer for vacation and moving from NM to FL and I never had an issue. As far as this forum goes, it's helped me more than you can imagine. Just by reading through the threads, I've been able to do some minor upgrades that I thought could never happen.

Has nothing to do with the vehicles.

GREED

Tru enuff....as sad as it is. Just hope they make a full recovery!

Greed is a problem. Sometimes I wonder where all of their sales revenue goes. The GMT900 truck costs more to buy than the 800 but I'm sure the build cost is less.

Now I don't want to get anybody upset, but I would be hesitant to buy a new GM truck because I think the GMT900 truck is not as good as the previous. I worked as an engineer with the transfer case supplier and have spent a lot of time with the 900 trucks. They have a lot of good points (6 speed auto, more hp, interior features) but I feel they did a whole lot of cost reduction. Compare the body panels between an 800 and 900 truck. Or worse yet the box. And I'm a stick shift guy and I think not offering one is unacceptable.

gm went down because they expanded instead of built up, got into too many projects..over payed the pencil pushers, let alone the union is a big pit full of money leeches and greed...i love both my chevys and the buick lol

Please remember that over $7,000 of the sticker price of a GM Vehicle goes to pay the legacy costs of its Union employees.

Imagine how many more they'd sell if they didn't have an extra 7-10k on a sticker...

I really want to love my truck, but it has let me down and left me stranded too often. When I replace it, I will definitely be looking at Dodge & Ford. There are too many things on it that GM cheaped out on that have caused problems for me, I certainly won't go buy another GM without at least looking around first.

True but GM agreed to their obligations. People need their retirement and their healthcare. Don't worry though, more and more of your GM truck comes from China or Mexico so that will be less of a problem.

My '08 Sierra is by far the best TRUCK that I have ever owned. While the GMT900 is a vast improvement over the GMT800, I still miss my old 800. I have always bought GM and will probably remain a loyal GM customer. However, that doesn't mean I won't shop other brands for comparison sake when it comes time to replace my current truck.

As far as best vehicle? No, definitely not. My wife drives a BMW and that is by far the best vehicle we have ever owned. We trade her vehicles every 2-3 years and that is the only brand we will ever buy for her.

I'm brand loyal, but that doesn't mean its' blind loyalty; I'll stay loyal to a brand as long as the product is quality. Blind loyalty to a crappy product is just plain stupid....

My 3.0 BMW was nice but my truck is nicer. Same with my 560 SEC Mercedes :D

Honestly, I miss both of those, the Benz is still around and my wife told me the father-in-law wants to will it back to me to restore for my son. It was in great condition when I gave it to him, he drove it into the ground (left the sunroof cracked open, window down for months when the motor went out, ran the transmission 5 quarts low) and if I really want to mess with it, I can't imagine how many thousands or tens of thousands of dollars it would cost me. :D

Man those are two sweet cars. It's too bad the Benz has fallen into that condition but it would be a great project (other than the cost). I have to admit that I always preferred driving my truck over my wifes cars back when we bought Lexus'. I honestly can't say that anymore since we made the switch to the Germans a few years ago though. Damn they are fun to drive. :P
