04 1500 z85 102k on the factory shocks atleast i think they are factory(blue and yellow) anyway the truck does not bounce but if i put a load in the bed the truck seems to handle funny, sort of alot of diagnal bounce from front left tire to rear right..with nothing in the back the truck rides fairly harsh, which i assume comes with the z85 suspension, like i said it dosent bounce, i'm just not sure if they are shot shocks or not..

6yrs and 100k+ on factory shocks? id replace them even if they arent the root cause of the sway (springs could be getting weak too).

its not like shocks are $200 each.... get a fresh set on there and see if it helps.... you got your monies worth out of the oem set. $.02

Yeah, we don't get more than 40,000 out of a set of shocks in this state! (MA) :D These roads will beat the best of them into submission.

I am partial to Edelbrock IAS shocks -- great ride, then if you push them hard ... like flying into a parking lot with the hump at the entrance , or some nasty whoops off road ... they soak it right up without bottoming. They were the only shocks that could tame the ride of my old '94 K1500 ... that thing was brutal.

From what I understand, Bilsteins are right up there with Edelbrock. I just bought a set for the wifes '86 Mercury Grand Marquis -- it's a summer car, so no test report yet. I still have yet to find a true test between Edelbrock & Bilstein as far as ride goes. I've heard through internet rumblings that the Bilsteins are more supple in comparison to the Edelbrocks, but the 2 sets that I have used ride fantastic.

It's worth the extra $$$, IMHO. You get what you pay for. Install these once & your done for as long as you own the truck.
