I have a 2000 chevy K-2500 4x4 crew ( old body style ) with electric shift transfer case. I have checked the fuse its ok, it does not make any noise like its even trying to shift. Could it be the shift motor?

Very possibly is your front diff actuator. If that goes out then it will not relay the signal back to the transfer case and therefor will not shift. If I am right, when you push the button for 4hi or 4lo, the light on the button will flash a little bit then light the 2hi button back up right?

could be anything,SCAN IT !!!!!!

I agree get the codes then move forward it will be cheaper in the long run! It could be any thing from a switch, encoder motor, tccm, actator in the front diff, to wiring or possiable internal transfer case.
