Costar Bluestar - Bad Reception

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I recently purchased a CoSTAR BlueSTAR module for my 2009 Sierra and I'm having bad reception and was wondering if anybody else had that problem?

When the truck is running, but stopped, the reception is decent...!?!?!

When the truck is travelling, then the reception is awful for the other person, but I can hear them crystal clear...!?!?!?

What the other person hear is comparable to a CB with a very bad reception/Static type of reception.

I tried calling many time during different times, during different days to no avail. I even reposition the unit to see if that made a difference in terms reception/interference still to no avail :D

Can someone shed light on this subject.

Many thanks.

Cell phone reception or reception between the CoStar and the phone? Did you try transfering a call to the cell phone to see if the connection is good?

Yes I did and reception was crystal clear. I'm starting to think that it has to do with static, because when I get in my truck (since I installed the bluetooth) I get a static shock which I never got before. Plus, the initial call after the "static shock" is crystal clear, but as soon as I have been driving for a while, then the calls deteriorates....any thought?

This being said, I switched my OnStar with the BlueStar, why would it start creating static?

I've been getting static shocks in my truck for a long time now. Don't know why, but it's irritating. It possible it could have something to do with your issue.

I KNOW! ME TOO! I was blaming it on the waether being dry or something....I though I was loosing my marbles.....Do you think that if we put back the onstar module, but only plug the antenna, it would take care of the static? I would doubt it! And someone mentioned that I can install a strip that drags on the ground to discharge the truck, but I don't want to do that!

Furthermore, I know this is a long shot, but this static shock scares me a little when fueling since all the stories about fuel catching fire when fueling....

What do think of all this....

Yeah, you guys are always quick to sell your product, but when we receive it, there are always problems with them. No offense to your product, but the only way I will get your product is if I you let me test it for a month before I buy and that you buy mine back....how's that for putting your money where your mouth is...hahaha. Moreover, I need to contact my vendor first, there migh br something he can do. Thanks for the offer though!
