Lifting With Leveling Kit For 285 Tires - Advice Needed

Getting a 2010 Tahoe 4x4 and want to fit 285/70/17 tires. Planning on using a leveling kit to raise it up for cosmetic purposes, ground clearance and to fit the tires.

 

Will a 2.5" front and 1" rear spacer kit get me the clearance needed for the 285s? Ebay has these kits for just over $100. Another seller has 1.5" and 2" rear spacers available but the price is almost triple. I would think 1.5" would be the way to go but not sure and the cost is compared to the seller with the 1" rear spacer.

 

Your input would be appreciated.

 

A true suspension lift is NOT an option for several reasons.

Yup that should work out for you Rick. If you are going to go with an aftermarket wheel it will be tight but as long as you don't have big thick mudflaps like me you should be alright. If you are staying with stock wheels or at least stock offset it will work just dandy. Guy here at work has the 2" front level without the rear block and stock wheels with 285's and his works great. Doesnt' even rub!

I have a 2008 Silverado 4X4 and all i had to do to fit 285/70/R17 was put the 2" leveling kit on. Works great... The setup you metioned should work great and look awesome to.

A Rough Country 2" leveling kit will give you the clearance for the 285 tires with stock wheels. I had that on my truck with no issues.

As I'm looking at 2.5" lift/level in the front wouldn't the rear need to be lifted a bit as well? If so I'm not sure if I need to go 1". 1.5" or ? in the rear.

Shouldnt have to lift the rear if all your looking for is to clear a set of 285/70/R17.
