Where Is My Pcv?

Just pulled both breathers from the top of my valve covers, and no PCV. Where the heck is it? 2003 GMC sonoma ZR2 4.3L 4x4 SLS

yeah...PCV is ancient techonology man.

All about fixed orifices and breather tubes and pop in vents....no one uses a PCV anymore man...they tossed that around the turn of the century.

Yeah some of the parts stores have the 4.3 listed as 1988 and up.

Some of the later model trucks with the 4.3 still had them past 2000...but it was a matter of where you bought the truck. By 03 they should have been gone totally though.

 

Most parts stores show a PCV for my truck and the LS series motor...to my knowledge....never had a PCV valve.

lol my haynes states where and how to check the pcv on 99-07 full sizes...god i'm begining to wonder if chimps wrote these books...is there even an egr valve anymore?

Maybe its a California thing????????????????

I know my 03 doesn't have one...nor did any of the other 50 or so LS motors I have worked on...they were all fixed orifice...had the tube and all, but no actual valve.

The Haynes manual is kind of a joke anyways. Factory service manual or nothing.

where would be located? the pic is vague and dosen't really give me much of a reference point to find it..

If there is one, its replaced the fixed orifice tube and is located at the rear of the engine driver side....the tube going into the valve cover...approx 5/8"OD tube.

The GMT800 trucks started the fixed orifice on DBW and in 2004 all had the fixed orifice, no maintenance item now.
