Interior Trim Colours

Recommended Posts

I see if you order the LStrim you have 3 trim colour choices, black, beige & grey. I had some time to kill on Friday so I stopped by the local dealer. Every single truck they had a black interior.

If anyone has a GMT900 w/ a grey or beige interior (cloth seats) could you take a couple of pics & post them?

Thanks

I love the "graphite" leather. The seats and interior of our Duramax look absoluetly brand new.

Our Tahoe, on the other hand, looks shabby. The tan leather shows the blue stain from sliding out of the seats with blue jeans. I've cleaned the leather many times and it still looks horrible. Also, the light tan carpets show every stain and imperfection.

We had a 99 Suburban, a fabulous truck, that had a gray interior. Same comments as the tan interior ... blue jeans stain the seats horribly.

Graphite, call it Black or whatever ... That's the way to go.

Whoops, forgot to add.

A good friend of mine, a fellow gun writer, ordered his Duramax in Victory Red with the tan leather interior. For some silly reason, Chub thinks that tan shows dirt and dust less than Graphite. I absolutely LOVE the Victory Red ... the tan interior? YUK

I'm glad that it makes him happy. :(

tan looks nice though. black/grey truck with grey interior would look nice i think.

My '94 had a grey interior & my 2000, tan. Never had a problem keeping them clean. Both were cloth seats.

Too bad he couldn't have gotten it with the Sedona Leather that comes in the H2...I think that would look awesome in a red truck.

I ten-thousand percent agree.

I've also seen a cool darkish red-brown Leather in a Lexus Limited that would be gorgeous on a Victory Red truck.

I'm so tired of our light tan leather seats with blue-jeans smears that I could puke. When it comes time to replace the leather, I'm thinking of Katzskins with dark brown/red outsides and a tan center. That would match the neutral interior and stop the prob with Levi stains.

You want to see something sickening, look at the gorgeous almost-white leather seats in the Cadillac section after a major auto show. I was talking to a professional auto detaller a few months ago and he was livid about how messed up these fine autos are at the end of four days.

I can only imagine....

Yeah thats a big thing with me and the tan or grey interiors...it shows dirt too much for me...I go to the shop a lot and sometimes I dont know it, but I brushed against something while I didnt have coveralls on, or something stupid like that...than I get in my truck...with charcoal interior and I see the dark black stain of grease, or rust, or whatever. I could only begin to think how bad my interior would look if I had tan...either that or it would be scrubbed away by now...all I would have left is a foam seat.

I am looking at getting Katskins for my truck too....I want the Tuscany Amaretto

Friend Nytemare,

I went onto the Katzskins site and you chose well, my friend. Tuscany Amaretto is incredible and I believe that is what I will replace my Tahoe LTs leather with. Maybe add a little lighter tan for accents, but basically the T/A is gorgeous and it would go with the neutral interior wonderfully.

Hit "Continue", hit solid and the Tuscany Amaretto is in the middle bottom of the lower color samples.

Man, that would be gorgeous and I've heard that the quality of Katzskins FAR exceeds the OEM. Hey, for $1,000 to $1,500 all up, a fella would have the smell of new leather again.

Yeah, I am not 100% on if I want an insert or not for mine yet..I have charcoal interior, but it has the tan headliner like all the other GMT-800's.

If I could get some amaretto accent pieces for the doors, and maybe dye the headliner, I would go with a storm insert, combo or body and dk graphite stitching. I like the touch of class the "red" leathers add to an interior.

Nytemare,

I Googled Katzskin and one of the vendors marketed a Katzskin sample kit. Apparently the samples are leather and each of the colors and textures is represented.

The kit is $10.95.

The kit would surely be a handy tool. Holding different "swatches" of dyed leather against the headliner, dashboard, etc would surely make it easier to secure a better decision.

Actually black shows dirt more then any other color.

:shakehead: When it comes to the interior, not even close! You're thinking about black paint.
