Factory Xm Radio Not Working

I subscribed to xm radio and am having the following problem:

After "refreshing" and going through all the steps XM said- the radio still would not update the channel list. - So I only get emergency alert and channel one.

Any ideas? should I look for a new XM module?

I take it you JUST subscribed very recently. I have had several different xm subscriptions and they have been notorious for being slow as anything activating radios. Give it some time, couple hours to a day.

No, I tried a year and a half ago- we tried for weeks to get it working. I'm just now wanting to get it working for good.

No help from XM or the dealer... they are doing the finger pointing game.

If you are picking up the emergency channel, then I would believe it is on their end. If your equipment was faulty, you wouldn't pick anything up.

They did for a month with me calling at least 2x a week. They would always try to send a refresh signal which never worked. Back during the elections I also got Potus 08- that's all though.

This bites because they are saying that it is the equipment, and GM is telling me its XM. Maybe I should just try again.

Ask to speak to a supervisor at XM and tell them you will be happy to put them in touch with a supervisor with your Dealer. For my truck, I had to have the truck on for about an hour (run position or engine running) after they sent the activation signal before it got it and everything loaded up.

Welcome to the club, my saga has gone on since october. The indian guy at XM said it was the radio, chevy says its XM. I gave up, never had these issues with sirius.
