ArkansasHellRaiser Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Hey guys, I just put 5% on my truck, and backing up in the dark is quite hard considering you can barely see out of the back glass, in my previous truck it wasn't so bad because I had led bulbs in the reverse lights which light up a little better but that was a ford, so I need some suggestions on what kind to get for a 2010 sierra, any pictures would be great, I've been looking at some putco 360 led bulbs but they're $55. that's quite a bit of money for reverse light bulbs. give me some idea's or websites, all I want is the reverse lights, thanks! And if you have any led tailights that are much brighter backing up than stock let me see some pictures too please, i like the anzo ones

pchrist Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I have led's for back up and they are great for looks. matches the HID's i have in front but not a lot of help for brightness. Maybe add a light below that is hidden and shines down on the ground???
Bob D Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I have led's for back up...but not a lot of help for brightness... Yea, they're only about 300 lumens. Only retrofit bulb I've found to be reasonably effective are the 50W halogens.
RayGMC Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 retrofit some HID lights in there instead. Do a write up so we can copy it:)
Diesail Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I bought a set of HID to just this. So far I have not had time to do it and I have two concerns. 1) is there enough power on the circuit or will I have to wire a new circuit. 2) are they going to blind people and maybe get the occifer's attention when I don't want it.
ArkansasHellRaiser Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 Check this out. Reverse HID that would be the funniest thing ever to do at a redlight, someone honks or flips you off just put it in reverse for a moment hahahaha well if led bulbs won't help me see then i guess i'll just be rolling down my window and hang my head out like i did for the past 3 years with my f-150

For the life of me I cannot find the website again. They had some LED panels in various sizes 3in by 4in etc with super bright outputs. It was on a site that supplied police/emergency/construction/tow vehicles. Thought I had bookmarked it. Try searching for led's for police use scene lighting. Sorry I couldn't help more. I have the same issue with my Yukon XL super dark tint all around. Need the extra light.
