Cranked The Bars

After alot of researching on this site I decided to go for it today. I went up 1". It still sits a little lower in the front but I'm not sure if I want to go up another .5" yet. Now I just need an excuse to give the wife to convince her I "need" bigger tires.

Nice move! Looks so much better, plus you left yourself a little bit of height differential so that a heavy load won't drop you down into Cali Lean!

Thats what I was thinking. I don't want it to look all wimpy and saggy if I put something heavy in the bed.

You should really get a leveling kit and a 2 inch block if you want. When you crank the bars like that you are putting more stress on the front end where as with a leveling kit it is reindexed so it will ride just like the factory. I got a leveling kit and a 2 inch block for my 04 and it rides just like factory. It won't be as much as you think either, you should be able to use green keys (88-99 half ton t-bar keys) you can get them from any gm dealer for 40 bucks. Then a block kit for 50 so it wouldn't be bad. But either way you go nice truck

I will not be getting any keys. I only went up 1". The truck already rides like it has square wheels so I'm not worried about the ride. :dunno: I didn't notice any difference in the ride after I did it anyway. I'm not trying to crank the screws in all the way and get 4" of lift. I just wanted to bring the front up a little.

The factory keys allow for enough adjustment to push the suspension past what is healthy for the other components. The ride gets rougher because we eliminate the possiblity of downward travel of our suspension. This can only be overcome by replacing the upper A-arms.

Truck looks good now though, as long as you are comfortable with the ride.
