I was listening to the radio the other day and heard that GM was going to be able to pay back the gov't loan and go public with an IPO, maybe this fall. Wall Street is pretty excited about it. How about you fellow truck owners? I'm giving some thought to buying some GM.

obamas a socialist, he wont let them buy it back. he wants control of everything!

:dunno: that would make him a dictator not a socialist...socialism is actually a good idea, but it would require all of us to be identical in nature..

"Socialism is a good Idea" Until you run out of other people's money!

Not the right place, but it needs to be said: show me an example of where socialism works. just one.

I really kind of think GM isn't going to continue to flourish. Honda and Toyota (Despite their recent "mishaps") and even Kia and Hyundai are stepping their game up sorta speak. GM had their blinders on because they had all these loyal customers and so they let designs and quality of product go to crap, Pontiac being an excellent example. Don't get me wrong, i think that their new SUV's and trucks are "pretty" good, despite their plastic covered dashes and door panels. I think GM needs to continue building quality products and this "bailout" (which I disagree with) stunted the progress they could have made with the lesson they would have learned (going bankrupt) without the bailout.

That is all.... :dunno:

I love my truck, but would never buy stocks in any domestic Automaker. Look at what the govt did to the bond holders of Chrysler, took capital away from them to appease the unions! Until the UAW and Govt get out of the industry, I'll have no part of it. :dunno:

No I just know cars and know car quality. I've worked at both Honda and Chevy Dealerships. I also don't want to have to pay for every business that doesn't appropriately market/design/and produce their products. If a business makes a poor product, people will go somewhere else. People will vote with their dollars, and people chose to not vote for GM.

The majority of the loss that GMC had, that I posted the link to; was for UAW stuff.......

Yup, union labor charges were a large part of it.

They will get my next money spent, for an Equinox for the wife, due to it being the only thing in it's class or anywhere close with great gas mileage. I guess that could always change fast though. Got the silverado cause it just looks better and isn't a lemon :dunno: Wouldn't ever give them retail price though, the price is too high for the product. They'd have to be bullet proof and last 250k on average before major work is needed to be worth the 40k they want for most of 'em, 30k for a little work truck with no features, geesh, that's a small house (4x4 prices).
