Right Blinker = 4 Way Flash

HI,

Rather strange thing happening with my 04. On the first right turn of the day I put on the blinker and get all 4 flashing.

This will continue on every right untill I put on the left blinker. The left works fine and then when I use the right again it works fine.

Thought it might be a short in the trailer plug so cleaned it with no effect. Than realized if R and L where being jumped together, on the trailer plug, on right turns it would flash all 4 but it would also flash 4 on a left turn, which it is not.

Where, in the wireing, would it be possible for the right side to connect to all 4 but the left to not connect to all 4.

Thanks

Multi-function switch

Try replacing the flasher relay first though, the MFS is expensive

In one of the the right side signal bulbs. If the filament breaks and shorts across to the parking light filament it will flash all 4 corners, but will not flash the left signal indicator in the dash. A bad ground can cause this as well.

I just had the same issue a month or so ago and it ended up being the flasher relay. I verified that no bulbs were out and since switching the flasher relay is cheaper and easier than replacing the MFS I tried that first and it ended up fixing the issue.
