JF1957 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Finally bought my 2004 Yukon XL 2500 4X4 8.1L today. Dealer asked $14,595.00 got it for $11,950.00. Pics will follow soon. BTW it's my first 4X4 so I have a question, can I drove it in auto 4WD on dry or wet pavement when hauling my travel trailer ? Thank you
pwall Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Congrats on your truck! Regarding the auto-4wd, the basic answer is yes, but why on dry pavement ?? Having it in auto-4wd on dry pavement will add no value when towing.
dogzapper Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Sure, no problem driving in Auto 4X4 on either wet or dry pavement. You will be surprised how darned well the Auto works. I've used the Auto 4X4 when driving through spots of ice/snow/bare pavement in Montana many times while driving to and from deer and elk hunting. Places like the Continental Divide near Lincoln are perfect for the Auto 4WD and it has always worked flawlessly. My current rig, a 2500HD with the DuraMax, does not have the Auto 4WD and I miss it. Congratulations on your new truck ... it's a terrific rig. Steve
