Silver Birch Paint Peeling

Has anyone else had trouble with peeling silver birch paint? My '05 work truck has the parts counter flat bowtie mudflaps. Behind them the paint is peeling off and rust is starting. Truck has just under 60000 miles on it. I have had this type of mudflap before on a Suburban without trouble.

Doesn't your truck have the 100k mile rust warranty?

I have the GMPP with about a month left on it, have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow. Just wondered if the paint peeling was common.

I don't think it's normal in the spot you're getting it.

Cross your fingers that they don't blame it on the mudflaps.

Rust warranty is going to replace the bumber, and the dealership is going to take care of the paint behind the mudflaps. I did agree to paying for new front brakes and rotors. I am probably paying for the paint with the brake job, but OK with it.

Peeling of the silver birch paint is normal because it correctly imitates peeling of the bark on the silver birch tree. :rollin:

Don't let the dealer find out, they're "fixing it" :rollin:
