so here are the specs....

The g8 gt is stock and will have an axle back kit (certain) plus possibly an intake and tune at time of the race(undecided).

The Mustang has a 351 swap with a "medium cam," aftermarkets heads, intake, 650 cfm edlebrock carb, headers, glass packs, c4 transmission, and somewhere between 3.50-3.70ish gears (cant remember). The car is also bored 60 over to be somewhere between a 361 and 370. The car is currently in the works (has 289) and will be done in june/july when we plan to take them to the drag strip. I Was just curious to see what you guys thought. He thinks it will run low 13s before some tuning and once they figure the car out it will be 12s. Theres really no pressure to the race i was more so curious to see what it will be able to do and how it would stack up against my G8.

well you G8 GT runs mid 13's stock if I remember correctly. If you just get a 91-93 octane tune you should be right at the low 13's area and should give that mustang a good run if all he's got it low 13's power. A G8 GT with full bolt-ons and tune is good for sub-13 1/4 mile. I frequent the G8 boards and plan on getting one myself soon.

If you get one you wont regret it! I do miss my truck though. I wish i could have both. There is nothing like stomping on a 360+ horsepower car though. It really makes me smile! If i were you i would try to find a used GXP. :-)

Hey 04silverado1500,

I got one of these too! It's faster than yours though 'cause mines Liquid Red. Everybody knows the red ones are quicker! LOL!

:(

Seriously though, I seem to have spent alot of time on GM lots in '09 apparently. You are right about droppin' the hammer. I bought it for the little honey, but one day, she's gonna turn her back and I'm gonna turn off the traction control on that thing and see if I can't utilize a some of it's functions. That, or wrap it around a light pole.......

(Note to self: DO NOT do that Rob. )

So its not a long term car because you couldnt fix wheel shake? was it when you were hitting the brakes or just driving down the road? Some of these cars also had bad ball joints so that may have contributed to your problems but im not sure. Maybe a bent rim ect.

Man, don't say that! I actually bought the one I have for the Wife. It's a 2009 too with just over 8000 miles on it now and I've never noticed ANY thing like that....and my wife would CERTAINLY let me know if SHE ever does. She's in it practically every day and notices WAY more things like that than I would. The few times I've driven it, I take the opportunity to romp down on it and it's pretty impressive as far as I'm concerned. It'll jump from 70 to 140 in nothin' flat.

The only thing we've had to take it back for so far is there was an "Airbag Fault" alert on the passenger side just a couple weeks ago and they had to replace a sensor.

Other than that, so far, nada!

Without knowing more about his setup...I'll say...You're going to spank him.

I like those G8's a lot. Very nice and well thought out cars.

<<<Jealous of your trunk space

That yours? You did the solo exhaust huh? I just decided to throw on bigger tips. It actually made a slight difference in tone but nothing noticeable to the average person. (still very quiet) Are you a member on any forums?

No, that's not any Solo product; way before they came on the scene and incorporated the Helmholtz technology. That's actually a PM-FL axleback that I modified to kill that awful drone. The exhaust system is now in San Diego and I have no idea where BigRed is now.

I used to be a member of G8Board, but got banned because I no longer owned a G8. I still drop by GRRRR8.net every once in a while, but it seems kinda dead now. (BigRed585Lbs) I'd rather mess with trucks now.
