Headlight Turn On With Remote Keypad Unlock

I have a 2010 Sierra 1500...does anyone know how to disable the headlights from illuminating when I unlock the truck with the remote key fob?

 

I looked in the manual at the entry/exit lighting feature, but that is only for the interior dome lights.

I believe in my 2007 you can do it through the DIC. Same place you can change when the doors unlock/lock, chime volume, ect ect. 2nd or 3rd button from the top in the DIC selection on the dash.

I looked through there. I'll look through it again. I wanted to turn the feature off for when I put my HIDs in...I dont want them to come on with the unlock.

Make sure you are going through all the options (not saying you have not) I dont know if the 2010's are different. I believe when you get to the approach lights if you hit another button at that point you can see all the options. Boy it has been awhile going through them though.

 

Then again I'm not sure it is possible to turn them off at all. I'm sure others wisdom will show me up on this post in no time.

Yea i did the same thing with my truck, I have an 08 and it was all controlled through the DIC, just scroll through the options, it should be there.

I know for 2009 you have an option to have the lights not come on through the DIC in the Remote Door Lock, Exit Lighting and Approach Lighting.

On the 2010's you can control them. I was looking through the dic functions when I bought my truck the other day and it is one of the features.

you are right. i read the manual and i thought that only applied to the interior dome lamps.

none the less, they don't light up anymore when i unlock it. much better.

just put this in this morning...i like all the extra info...esp how much milage till empty lol

but i thought we could shut the chime off..it only lets me set to normal or loud ...am i missing something ?

Nope, mine is only normal or loud too.
