what are you having to move around to get it to work? bulb, housing, wiring?

generally it just comes on, not from moving anything particular, just from "jiggling" it. tomorrow i will go back under the hood and see if theres any one thing that makes a difference.

Take the bulb out and check the socket....they're known to turn brown from the heat. I've replaced both of mine and they work great now.

I've looked EVERYwhere for DRL SOCKETS... AutoZone, OReilly, etc...

they can't even LOOK UP THE PART.

do I HAVE to go to the Dealer?? they said something to the tune of $29 for ONE PIGTAIL SOCKET!!! The one that is similar (but won't work) at ZutoZone is $8 ! !

That sounds about right for a dealership. They want an arm and a leg for everything.

try finding bulbs rated at 14V. i changed my DRL's to Sylvania's amber long life bulbs 7 yrs.ago and still working..and looks :happysad:

good luck

On my '03 the amber bulbs were losing their color from it peeling off so I started looking at possible replacements. After looking at the heat discolored sockets I though some LEDs might be just the ticket and make the truck stand out slightly. Well, I found all kinds of LED array and cluster bulbs that would fit but I think they all warned that they weren't for DRL use. What seemed to happen was the high voltage seen at the bulbs just after starting. Regardless, I tried two different LED "bulbs" and one that had something like 45 or so LEDs all clustered together ended up blowing maybe a third of the LEDs in short order. The other was a forward firing "bulb" that I didn't care for because the reflector behind it was not utilized. But I was thinking if someone were to put a 12V zener diode in line with it that would keep voltage from exceeding 12V. May have to give that a shot sometime. I currently run long life bulbs and they have lasted a long time without losing their color also.
