Can anyone tell me what exactly is included with RPO code F44 (Heavy Duty Chassis)?

I have a 96 K1500 X-Cab non Z71.

Hi Slee73, welcome to the forum.

I have a 89 F44. I remember when I bought it 6 years ago trying to figure out what came with the package. To my knowledge, here are some details the I found out:

Its a chassis package on some 1/2 tons GMC and Chevy trucks which included a bigger brakes, different rear axle, bigger U-Joints and an additonal rear leaf spring on each side.

 

I also found this while searching the forum: 9 1/2in. semi-floating rear axle with bigger 2 3/4x11 1/4in brakes, bigger U-joints and an additional rear leaf spring, It increased the trucks GVWR from 6200lbs. to 6600lbs.

So I am thinking I should start a new trend and re-badge the 4X4 on my truck to F44
