2010 Chevy Silverado - Couple ?'s

Recommended Posts

We just bought a 2010 Silverado CC Z71, and have a couple questions.

1st ?: Is there door sill plate "covers" in the black plastic (no chrome please) like there I had on my 2000 Chevy Silverado? I know this should be in the "Appearance" forum, but don't want to start a thread for a simple question.

2nd ?: I haven't dug into my manual yet, BUT is there a harness adapter for an aftermarket brake controller? I read on one website there is only wiring under the dash to adapt the controller to, is this correct?

Thank you!

Chris

ps: So far we love the new ride! Way more room compared to the 2K ECSB we had.

pps: I did a couple searches, but couldn't find any info.

which sill plate covers are you looking for?

Are you talking about the area under the sill plate? The kick area?

If so you have to buy the GMT-800 ones. AVS has them and I installed them on my GMT-900. I can snap a photo tomorrow morning

I did find out that the trail brake controller wiring should be under the dash with a little more searching. So that is answered!

Ryan,

Thank you for the info & picture! Actually, the "sill covers" I had on my 2K Chevy went on the painted area next to the rubber door seal. They protected the paint from getting all scratched up as you got in & out of the truck. And with Twin almost 7 yr olds, I want this truck to last as long as the last one! Lol

Yep that link I posted above is what you need. I will snap a photo this morning when I head out shopping. I got mine mainly because of the dog jumping into the back seat to keep his nails from destroying that area.

Those look good. I might have to get a set of those.

Just don't vacuum the floor mats for a few weeks, they will be FREE then! :)

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

The set I had on my 2K ECSB was great. Never had them fall off or anything. And protects the paint!

Ryan: How well do the GMT800 set fit on the new truck? From the pictures they fit very well! Also, what brand nerf bars do you have? And do they bolt to the rocker panel? How secure are they?

Thank you!

They fit perfect. Had the same set (except ext cab) on my 2000.

They are the gm steps. They bolt to the rocker and are solid. I am 220lbs and I dont have any issues.

I just looked at them on GM's web site. 6 bills, wow! They look good though! Are they stainless like the round bars, as they don't say for the oval models?

Ryan,

Thank you again for the info on the step shields! I got them on the truck this afternoon! I don't think they could fit any better!

I do have a question about the front shields, did you take the body plug out or just mount them over it?

TY!

Where can I get the Chevrolet logo by the door for the my V-Max?

In the 2010 truck you trade yours in on

On the 2011 lol, anyone got a part number?
