Well first what you have is magnesium, not aluminum.

I guess my first question here is why? Unless you have a 205 for free somewhere it's going to be a lot of work.

First you'll need a 29T input gear installed in the Ford t/c (assuming you have a 4L80).

I think the center distance is the same but odds are the drop angle is wrong. If it's too low the from propshaft won't clear the trans crossmember.

You'll need a custom prop front and rear since the NV261 is slip spline front and back.

You won't be able to shift on the fly since the NP205 doesn't have a synchro. If you want to shift on the fly you'll have to make a plug spacer to keep the front axle in all the time. Otherwise you'll have to rig a switch to engage the front axle (while stopped) and leave the front axle engaged in case you need 4wd on the fly (as you would do with manual lockout hubs).

The NP205 doesn't have a tone wheel. You'll need to use a custom tone wheel setup either at the front or back of the rear propshaft like the streetrodders use that is calibrated to imitate the one in the NP261. If the tone wheel for the VSS is not right nothing [auto trans, abs, speedo, engine controls] will work properly.

The Np205 is not as low in 4LP having a 1.96:1 low where your NV261 is 2.72:1. This is also going to mess up your shift points and make the PCM have a fit in 4L0 since RPM, gear position, and speed are not going to jive.

The NP205 is a lot heavier as well.

Those are the things that pop into mind. I would not recommend that swap.
