I have a 08 silverado ext cab lt does it come with electric trailer brakes? It doesn't have a controller.

Your trailer has the brakes. The controller, sends a signal to the brakes on the trailer to apply pressure as you apply pressure on your truck breaks. If you want a controller, I recommend either the p3 or prodigy by techonsha. Don't quote me on the spelling. Hope this helps.

+1 on the P3. I have one & wouldn't know if there is anything better out there. Great unit.
